Famous Tamil Comedy Actor Kumarimuthu Passed Away


Famous Tamil Comedy actor Kumarimuthu died in Chennai. He was 77. He was in politics as the celebrity faces of Karunanidhi headed Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) PartyHe made his acting debut in Ival Oru Seethai in 1978. After the film Nandu written and directed by J Mahendran, he got many offers.

Art Of Living faces Rs 120 Cr. Fine For damaging Yamuna floodplains



The Art of Living Foundation might have to fork out Rs 120 crore as “penalty” for the damage caused to the Yamuna floodplains in the run-up to its March 11-13 event expected to be attended by three-and-a-half million devotees. A National Green Tribunal (NGT) panel has estimated Rs 100-120 crore as the cost of restoration of the western side of the floodplains after examining the extent of damage, and recommended that the amount be collected before the event.

Jaypee Sells Cement Biz To UltraTech For Rs 16,500 cr.




In one of the biggest transactions in the cement industry, the debt-laden Jaypee group signed a binding agreement on 28-feb-2016 to sell its cement business, with a capacity of 18.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), to the Aditya Birla Group’s UltraTech Cement, for an enterprise value of Rs 16,500 crore.Under the deal, UltraTech will pay an additional Rs 470 crore for completion of the grinding unit for 4 mtpa capacity under implementation.

Vinod Rai Appointed Chairman Of Newly Constituted Banks Board Bureau(BBB)



Former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai has been appointed as the first Chairman of Banks Board Bureau (BBB). His appointment comes after Prime Minister has approved the proposal of the Department of Financial Services for the constitution of the BBB.

IDBI Bank To Raise Rs 1,500 cr By Selling 28 cr Shares To LIC


State-owned IDBI Bank proposes to offer about 28 Cr. shares at Rs 53.44 apiece to LIC on preferential basis to raise Rs 1,500 Cr. the bank board approved the proposal for preferential issue of capital to Life Insurance Corporation of India, aggregating up to Rs 1,500 crore (inclusive of premium amount) subject to Government of India's approval.
