19th commonwealth forestry conference to begin in Uttarakhand today

19th Commonwealth Forestry Conference (CFC) 2017 will begin today at Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Governor Dr. K.K. Paul will inaugurate the 19th Commonwealth Forestry Conference at the FRI in Dehradun. The 5-day conference is being organized on the theme ‘Forests for Prosperity and Posterity’. The participants from 49 Commonwealth member countries will participate in the conference.
The conference is being organized in coordination with the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change along with Commonwealth Forestry Association of United Kingdom. The issues affecting climate change and green cover will be deliberated upon in the conference.
