Bhaskar Khulbe, a Senior IAS officer of 1983 batch of West Bengal cadre has been appointed as Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was Additional Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the appointment of Khulbe with effect from 7th August. He will look after work related to Cabinet Secretariat and thrust areas of the government.
Among the other appointments cleared by ACC are – by temporarily upgrading the posts held by 1983 batch officers empanelled to secretary level or equivalent are Arun Kumar (ministry of social justice and empowerment), Jagdish Prasad Meena (food processing ministry), Jatinder Bir Singh (Punjab & Sind Bank, ministry of finance), Preeti Sudan (WCD ministry), Asha Ram Sihag (UPSC), Yudhvir Singh Malik (NITI Aayog), Sanjeevanee Kutty (MHA), K P Krishnan (rural development ministry), Injeti Srinavas (Sports Authority of India, ministry of youth affairs and sports), Seema Bahuguna (ministry of rural development), Bharati S Sihag (ministry of steel), Dinesh Sharma (department of economic affairs), R Sridharan (ministry of mines), Rajani Ranjan Rashmi (ministry of environment), Alka Panda (food and public distribution), Anjali Prasad (ambassador, WTO) and Bhagwati Prasad Pandey (power ministry).
