Companies spent Rs 42 cr under Swachh Bharat Kosh as CSR initiative


FM Arun Jaitly stated in Parliament that in 2014-2015, companies have spend over rs. 42 crore towards ‘Swachh Bharat Kosh’ as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. This fund have been used for achieving the objective of improving cleanliness levels in rural and urban areas including schools.

Apart from the companies, the government has mobilized rs. 370 crore under the scheme. This has been done as per the new companies act, as its mandate to every company with a net worth of Rs 100 crore to set aside minimum 2% of their three-year average annual net profit for CSR activities.
