First time in the history, a total of 84 page data has been released and put in the public domain, as the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has published direct tax related data including income disclosed in tax returns by various categories of tax player from 2000 to 2015.
The data also included the information of PAN card allocation in the country across various categories and gender. According to the department, the objective behind the publishing of these statistics was to encourage wider use and analysis of Income Tax data.
According to officials, this step has been taken because a number of economists and researchers had demanded that such data should be made available publicly, that’s the reason the data has been uploaded on the official web portal of the department.
So let’s discuss some questions related to this post :
1. For the first time, which department has published the direct tax related data ?
2. Expand the term CBDT ?
