Another Milestone for India
The World Economic Forum has released the ranking of 138 countries for the global competitiveness index. According to WEF ranking India has jumped 16 ranks to settle at the 39th spot on the global competitiveness index.
Last year (2015-16), India was ranked 55th Spot. This is the second year in a row that India has jumped 16 spots.The WEF ranking comes in as a major boost for Prime Minister Narendra Modi government continuous effort for economic reforms in country.
The World Economic Forum is a Swiss nonprofit foundation, based in Cologny, Geneva and currently Klaus Schwab hold the position of the executive Chairman. Among BRICS nation India is the second most competitive country behind China (28 position).Russia and South Africa moving up two places to 43 and 47, respectively, only Brazil is declining, falling six places to 81.
Top 5 Countries are : Switzerland (1st), Singapore (2nd), United States (3rd), Netherlands (4th) and Germany (5th)
