Govt Retires 33 Tax Officials For Non-Performance

Cracking the whip on non-performing and defaulting officials, the government has decided to prematurely retire 33 officers including seven Group ‘A’ officers from the Revenue Service.

Further, 72 officers, including six Group ‘A’ officers have been dismissed in other departmental and disciplinary actions in the last two years.


There is a general perception that no action is taken against the defaulting tax officials for their non-performance as well as in case of harassing the tax assesses among others but now those days are history as Govt is assesing the performance of tax officials on the regular basis.
