India and Slovenia have signed a Protocol to amend the existing bilateral double taxation avoidance agreement, broadening the pact to include exchange of information to curb tax evasion in Ljubljana. The Protocol was signed by Mr. Sarvajit Chakravarti, Ambassador of India to Slovenia on behalf of India and Mr. Dusan Mramor, the Slovenian Minister of Finance on behalf of Slovenia.
The Protocol will broaden the scope of the existing framework of exchange of tax related information which will help curb tax evasion and tax avoidance between the two countries and will also enable mutual assistance in collection of taxes.
Extra Info : Double taxation is the levying of tax by two or more jurisdictions on the same declared income (in the case of income taxes), asset (in the case of capital taxes), or financial transaction (in the case of sales taxes).
So let’s discuss some questions related to this post :
1. Name the country with which India has signed the Double Taxation Avoidance Convention recently ?
2. Who is the Ambassador of India to Slovenia ?
