Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee Sworn In As Chief Justice Of Karnataka High Court


Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee took oath as the 28th Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka. Governor Vajubhai R. Vala administered the oath to Mr. Mukherjee in a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Bangaluru as per provision of Article 219.

Prior to this appointment, he was officiating as Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Karnataka since June 2015. He has joined Karnataka High Court as Judge on April 15, 2015. Mr. Mukherjee born on October 10, 1955, in Birbhum district of West Bengal and has obtained his M.A., LL.B. degree from University of Calcutta.

Mr. Mukherjee, joined the legal profession in 1982. He practiced mainly civil and writ matters for 18 years before being elevated as permanent judge of the High Court of Calcutta on September 15, 2000.
