Kadhaprasangam Maestro And Actor VD Rajappan Passed Away

Kadhaprasangam maestro and actor VD Rajappan has passed away at a private hospital in Kottayam. He was 70. He was Kerala’s popular ‘Kadhaprasangam’ (story telling) artiste and Malayalam film actor mainly known for his comic roles. 

Rajappan had acted in more than 50 Malayalam movies. He was the center of attraction at festival grounds in Kerala at the peak of his career in 1970s and 1980s. He gifted his devoted fans many memorable performances such as Priye Ninte Kura, Amittu, Kumari Eruma, Mak Mak, Ennennum Kurangettandeh and many such others.

He Started his film career in 1980s, he acted in many movies including ‘Kakka’, ‘Kusruthikkattu’, ‘Kattupothu’, ‘Kuyilinethedi’ and ‘Engane Nee Marakkum.’ His last movie was ‘Ok Chacko Cochin Mumbai’. He went on to have a successful tint as a comedian in cinema and was very popular among the masses.

Born to Devadas and Vasanthy in Kottayam, he leaves behind his wife Sulochana and two sons Rajesh and Rajeev.
