LeEco to invest $10 mn on cloud infra; will set up CDNs across 10 cities

Chinese smartphone maker LeEco announced it would invest $10 million (roughly Rs. 66 crores) to set up in-house Cloud and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) in 10 cities across India by end of this year.

LeEco intends to reach out to 10 million user base in smart devices through the CDN/Cloud infrastructure in these 10 locations across India, the firm said in a statement.
The CDN/cloud infrastructure will provide content delivery capabilities in linear channel, live events and video on demand – serving both mobile and TV segment, giving consumers a better user experience on LeEco products.

LeEco has announced partnerships with Eros and Yupp TV for content on mobile phones. Eros Now for Video-on-demand (VOD) and YuppTV for TV content streaming. Leshi Internet Information & Technology, also known as LeEco (Formerly Letv), is a Chinese technology company, and one of the largest online video companies in China. It is headquartered in Chaoyang District, Beijing.
