India’s biggest online marketplace Flipkart has announced the appointment of Nitin Seth as its Chief People Officer. In Flipkart, Seth will lead the human resource function and partner with the leadership team.
Seth is a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Nitin Seth the new CPO of Flipkart will report to Binny Bansal, CEO and co-founder of Flipkart. He replaced Mekin Maheswari who was associated with the company since its inception.
Earlier to this appointment, Seth was the Managing Director and Country Head for Fidelity International in India. He had worked as Director of McKC, McKinsey’s global knowledge center in India. He led McKC for eight years. Seth also chairs the NASSCOM regional council for Haryana and is the chairperson of the National GIC Council and is part of the NASSCOM Executive Council.
The development comes a week after Mukesh Bansal, Head of Commerce, and Ankit Nagori quit the company to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Flipkart has been in news for last several months for the reshuffle that took place in its top leadership team. Last year, Maheswari quit along with Amod Malviya, its Chief Technology Officer than the company had appointed ex-Googler Punit Soni as it’s CTO.
