NTPC, Nalco to set up 2,400 Mw power plant in Odisha

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd and National Aluminium Company (Nalco) have jointly agreed to set up a coal-based power project, having a production capacity of 2,400 Mw, in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

NTPC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nalco on 16 December 2016 to form a joint venture company that will develop a coal-based power plant in Gajmara. The energy produced at this unit will be used to supply power to Nalco’s aluminium smelter.
