Paris climate agreement becomes international law

Paris climate change agreement, the first ever deal involving all the world’s nations in the battle against global warming, came into force on 04th November. The deal seeks commitments to cap the use of fossil fuels like coal and oil. Currently, the deal is backed by 97 countries that are collectively responsible for nearly 67.5% of the global greenhouse gas emissions. 

The Paris Agreement is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dealing with greenhouse gasses emissions mitigation, adaptation, and finance starting in the year 2020.
