PepsiCo Named As New Associate Sponsor Of BCCI

Beverage giants PepsiCo has named as the new associate sponsor of BCCI , which was earlier pulled out as title sponsors of the Indian Premier League in October. BCCI has named it as BCCI’s official associate sponsor for all international matches in India. The both entered into a 4 year partnership for refreshment, snacks and drinks besides grounds where the firm will try to garner maximum visibility for their brands.

The announcement comes four months after PepsiCo had withdrawn as title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by walking out from five year contract which was due to expire in 2017. The agreement also gives PepsiCo benefits of prominence in In-Stadia branding and On-Ground advertising for 80 matches in four years across the three formats.

In October last year, PepsiCo pulled out of their deal with the IPL due to the spot-fixing scandal that tarnished the image of the cash-rich tournament. However, the American company is back on the cricket field and will be the BCCI’s sponsor for ground activities, beverage and snacks in all international fixtures over the next four years.

Besides, Pepsico, there would be two other official associate sponsors of BCCI, from which the cricket body would get Rs 150 crore for the next four years. Names of the other two sponsors will be announced in the next 7-10 days. Apart from them Mobile commerce platform Paytm is the official title sponsor of the BCCI.
