Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has named Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma as their new global ambassador. In its partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), Nissan also named West Indies all rounder Andre Russell and New Zealand women’s team captain Suzie Bates as its ambassadors.
The decision was taken with an aim to support a new line up of cricket talent for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20. The World T20 will be played in India from March 15 to April 3.
For the period 2016 to 2023, Nissan has 8 year sponsorship deal with ICC for all tournaments. In addition to this advertising campaign, the ambassadors will be active on social media across the World T20, supporting fan focused initiatives of Nissan Play of the day.
