UR Rao becomes first Indian to be honoured with IAF Hall of Fame Award

The Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chief scientist Udupi Ramachandra Rao will become the first Indian to be inducted with the ‘International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Hall of Fame’ award for 2016. Mr. Rao will be honoured in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the progress of astronautics within the framework of the IAF’s activities.

The IAF award is intended to reward personalities for their contributions to the progress of astronautics and the Federation and Mr. Rao will receive the ‘IAF Hall of Fame’ award at the 67th International Astronautical Congress, which will be held in Guadalajara in Mexico on 30 September 2016.
