Vijay Rupani takes oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat

Vijay Rupani, the newly elected leader of Gujarat BJP, was sworn in as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 August 2016 in a ceremony that was attended by BJP heavyweights Arun Jaitley, Amit Shah and LK Advani. While Nitin Patel was also sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the stateApart from Rupani and Nitin Patel, 23 others took the oath for spots in the state cabinet at a ceremony held in Gandhinagar.

Gujarat governor OP Kohli has administered the oath of post and secrecy to the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel at the Mahatma Mandir conference hall in Gandhinagar. Rupani, who succeeds Anandiben Patel, was the senior most cabinet minister in Anandiben Government. Now the strength of new council of Ministers has reached to 25 in comparison to 24 ministers in the previous government.
