11th Sultan Of Johor Cup To Be Held In Johor, Malaysia In November 2023

 

The 11th edition of the Sultan of Johor Cup in 2023 is scheduled to be held in Johor, Malaysia. Hockey India has announced the 20-member Indian junior men’s hockey team that will participate in the 11th Sultan of Johor Cup. This prestigious tournament is set to take place from October 27 to November 4. Notably, this year’s edition will feature eight teams, expanding from the customary six.

Expanded Tournament Format

In this year’s Sultan of Johor Cup, India has been placed in Pool B. They will face tough competition from Malaysia, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Pool A will consist of Germany, Australia, South Africa, and Great Britain. The tournament promises fierce competition, as these junior teams strive to prove their mettle on the international stage.

The Squad

The Indian junior men’s hockey team boasts a well-rounded roster.

  • In the goalkeeping department, the reliable duo of Mohith H S and Ranvijay Singh Yadav will ensure the team’s defensive stability.
  • The defenders include Amandeep Lakra, Rohit, Sunil Jojo, Sukhvinder, Amir Ali, and Yogember Rawat, who will strive to thwart the opposition’s advances.
