The 21st edition of the India-France Military Sub Committee (MSC) meeting took place on October 16-17, 2023, at the Air Force Station in New Delhi. This crucial meeting was co-chaired by Air Vice Marshal Ashish Vohra from the Indian side and Major General Eric Peltier from the French side. The India-France MSC serves as a forum established to advance defense cooperation between India and France. It facilitates regular discussions at both strategic and operational levels between the HQ Integrated Defence Staff of India and the Joint Staff HQ of the French Armed Forces. Air Vice Marshal Ashish Vohra, Assistant Chief of Integrated Staff (Military Cooperation) at HQ IDS, led the Indian delegation during the meeting. His counterpart, Major General Eric Peltier, General Officer, International Military Relations of the Joint Staff, represented the French side. The presence of high-ranking military officials underscored the importance of the discussions and the commitment to advancing the defense partnership between India and France.
The significance of the India-France defense partnership was also emphasized during a recent meeting between Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the French Minister for the Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu. This meeting, which occurred on October 12 in Paris, highlighted the deepening of the India-France partnership over the years.
