Income Tax Department of India has launched a new platform called ‘Kar Saathi’. It is designed to simplify the tax filing and improve user experience. This initiative introduce the AI-powered assistant which provides 24*7 guidance for the taxpayers. As India moving towards the modernized tax system under the upcoming Income Tax Act, 2025 this platform will aims to make compliance easier, faster and more accessible for millions of user across the country.

The ‘Kar Saathi’ platform is essentially for one-stop digital solution for all direct tax-related services. It combine the information, tools and assistance into a single user-friendly interface.

Role of CBDT and PRARAMBH Initiative

The launch of Kar Saathi is part of the broader reform agenda which is led by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

CBDT Chairman Ravi Agrawal highlighted that this initiative during the rollout of PRARAMBH an outreach program which aimed at to ensuring a smooth transition to the new tax regime.

PRARAMBH (Policy Reform and Responsible Action for Mission Viksit Bharat) focuses on,

Simplification Under the New Income Tax Act, 2025

The major highlight of the reform process is the the significant reduction in complexity.

• The forms reduced from 399 to 190
• Additionally, the expected elimination of compliance requirements for over the 6 crore transactions
