Agriculture Minister launches “Kisan Rath” Mobile App

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has launched a mobile application “Kisan Rath”. This farmer friendly app has been launched to facilitate transportation of foodgrains and perishables during lockdown.

About “Kisan Rath”:

The mobile application “Kisan Rath” has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to provide farmers & traders in finding transport vehicles for Primary and Secondary transportation for movement of Agriculture & Horticulture produce. The agriculture produce comprises of foodgrain (Pulses, coarse cereal, cereals etc), Fruits & Vegetables, coconuts, spices, oil seeds, flowers, bamboo, log & minor forest produce, fiber crops etc. With the help of this app, the traders will also be able to transport perishable commodities by Reefer (Refrigerated) vehicles.

What is Primary transportation?
Primary transportation comprises the movement from Farm to Mandis, FPO Collection Centre and Warehouses etc.

What is Secondary transportation?
Secondary Transportation constitutes the movement from Mandis to Intra-state & Inter-state mandis, Processing units, Railway station, Warehouses and Wholesalers etc.
