Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, along with compound archers Avneet Kaur, Sangampreet Singh Bisla, and the men’s 10m air rifle team, achieved remarkable victories by securing gold medals at the FISU World University Games 2023 in Chengdu, the People’s Republic of China.

With these achievements, India’s medal tally at the FISU World University Games 2023 reached an impressive total of 17 medals – nine gold, three silver, and five bronze. India currently holds the fourth position on the medals table, trailing behind China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.

India Shines at FISU World University Games 2023

The Indian team celebrated the exceptional performance of shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, who notched not one but two gold medals during the competition. Following his triumph in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event, Aishwary continued his brilliant form by claiming the top spot in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.

In the finale, Aishwary scored an impressive total of 252.6 points, securing victory over his fellow Tokyo Olympian and compatriot, Divyansh Singh Panwar, who settled for the silver medal with 251 points. The bronze in the event was bagged by China’s Buhan Song, who scored 229 points.

Indian Trio Clinches Gold Medal in Men’s 10m Air Rifle Team Event with Remarkable Team Spirit

The Indian trio comprising Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Arjun Babuta showcased exceptional team spirit, resulting in a gold medal for the men’s 10m air rifle team event.

The team displayed remarkable coordination and skill, earning a combined score of 1894.7 points. China followed closely behind with a silver medal and a score of 1881.9, while Kazakhstan secured the bronze with 1878.2 points.
