Ajinkya Rahane Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing the curtains down on an illustrious career. Popularly known as “Jinx”, the veteran batter made the announcement through a heartfelt video message on his Instagram account, stating that the time had come to move forward after serving Indian cricket with dedication and honesty.
Rahane, who hails from Dombivli in Maharashtra’s Thane district, thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), his family, teammates, and his wife Radhika for supporting him throughout his journey. While announcing his retirement, he hinted that he may continue contributing to cricket in a coaching or mentoring role.
Ajinkya Rahane made his international debut in 2011 and established himself as one of India’s most dependable batters, especially in overseas conditions. He represented India across all three formats and was known for his calm temperament, solid technique, and ability to perform under pressure.
