Amit Shah Inaugurates India’s Largest Sports Complex in Ahmedabad
On 16 September 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated India’s largest and most technologically advanced sports complex at Naranpura in Ahmedabad. The inauguration marks a milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a global sporting powerhouse, aligning with the government’s vision of making India a top sports nation by 2047.

Mr. Shah emphasized, “This is not only India’s largest but also the world’s most modern sports complex.”
During his address, Amit Shah reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming India into a top-tier sports nation by 2047, when the country will celebrate 100 years of independence. He expressed optimism that Ahmedabad will become Asia’s sports capital, capable of hosting major global events and producing elite athletes.
