In a groundbreaking move, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, inaugurated the VFX and Tech Pavilion at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. This pavilion, a first in the history of Film Bazaar by NFDC at IFFI, is set to be a focal point for showcasing the latest advancements in film-making technology, encompassing animation, visual effects, virtual reality, and CGI.

- Minister Thakur took a tour of various sections within the Pavilion, including the Cine Museum and the Viewing Zones of streaming giants Amazon Prime and Netflix. The inspection also involved a firsthand demonstration of Sony’s full frame Cinema Line Cameras.
- Notably, the Minister engaged with young filmmakers selected under the 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow initiative and interacted with authors participating in the Book to Box section of the Tech Pavilion.
India’s Phenomenal Growth in Media and Entertainment Industry
- Expressing pride in India’s rapid ascent from the 10th to the 5th largest media and entertainment economy globally, Shri Thakur envisioned an even brighter future.
- He stated, “Given the talent and volume of film and media content produced in the country, India will soon become the 3rd largest Media and Entertainment Industry in the world.”

- Minister Thakur remarked, “India is the most sought-after destination for film shoots and post-production, backed by the talent of our youth and children and the innovation of our industry leaders.”
