AP Govt Announces ₹1 Crore Cover for Municipal Staff

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to workers’ welfare and civic responsibility, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on August 23, 2025, announced a comprehensive insurance scheme for municipal workers. Under this initiative, municipal staff will receive ₹1 crore life cover, while outsourced workers’ families will be entitled to ₹20 lakh in case of accidental death. The scheme was launched during the Swachh Andhra–Swarna Andhra campaign in Peddapuram, Kakinada district.

  • In case of permanent disability, the same compensation amounts will apply.

  • The Chief Minister also announced education assistance up to ₹8 lakh for the children of municipal and outsourced workers, aimed at supporting their families beyond immediate relief.
