Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Arun Agarwal, a Dallas-based Indian-American entrepreneur, as the Chairman of the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) Board of Directors. This role involves marketing Texas as a premier business destination both domestically and globally. Agarwal’s appointment highlights Texas’s commitment to diversity and the increasing influence of Indian-American leaders in significant economic positions.
Arun Agarwal, CEO of Nextt, brings extensive experience in business, philanthropy, and international relations. His diverse portfolio includes textiles, cotton trading, real estate, and sports management. Agarwal is also the Chairman of the National Cricket League (NCL), USA, and holds various leadership roles, including co-chair of the Indian American CEO Council, President of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Board, and board member of notable organizations such as the US India Friendship Council and the University of Texas executive board.
Agarwal holds an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, a Master’s in Computer Information Systems from Southern New Hampshire University, and an advanced certificate in International Business from Harvard University.
In his new role, Agarwal is set to enhance Texas’s economic profile globally by leveraging the state’s diverse talent and international connections. His recent successful delegation trip to India with Governor Abbott has already strengthened economic ties between Texas and India.
