Indian players Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Pravin Ojas Deotale won gold in the Compound Archery Mixed Team. India has made its mark at the Asian Games 2023, excelling in specific sports that brought a total of 71 medals for the country. The duo defeated the South Korean pair of So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon 159-158 at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Centre Final Field. This is the first gold for Archery in the ongoing Asian Games.
The pair had moved to the semi-final after beating the Malaysian team by a scoreline of 158 – 155. The Recurve Mixed Team will also be in action and will compete for a medal.
India have now won 16 gold, 26 silver and 29 bronze medals in the Hangzhou Games and have a chance to add to add more to their tally. China is currently on top with 164 golds, 90 silvers and 46 bronze medals. Japan and South Korea are second and third in the list.
