Asian Games 2026 Day 11: India Wins Four Golds, Medal Tally Reaches 60

On the 11th day, India was the most successful day of India in the Asian Games 2026 where Indian athletes won seven medals, four gold and three bronze. India got three gold medals from the compound archery and one more gold from mixed team trap shooting by Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai. India won three bronze medals through their boxing athletes Priya Ghanghas and Kapil Pokhariya and through wrestling athlete Sunil Kumar.

In India’s compound archers got all the three gold medals of the team category. India won the women’s team gold medals through Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep while India won the mixed team gold medals through Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav. India won the men’s team gold medals through Sahil Jadhav, Kushal Dalal and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru.

As of the end of the 11th day, India achieved 60 medals, 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze medals and came at eighth place in the medal tally.

Compound Archer Teams Secure Three Gold Medals

India proved dominant in the compound archery team events, clinching the gold medal in the women’s team, mixed team and men’s team categories.

Indian Women Compound Team Win Gold Medal

Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Taniparthi Chikitha and Prithika Pradeep won against China 238-234 in the women’s compound team final.

The three Indians equalled the world record score of 238 points and defended their Asian Games women’s compound archery team title successfully.

Winning of Gold in Mixed Compound Archery Team Category

Taniparthi Chikitha and Sahil Jadhav won against South Korea’s Jungyoon Park and Choi Eun Gyu in a nail-biting final.

The two teams scored 157-157 points after four ends and were required to compete in a shoot-off from where India emerged victorious and won the gold.

The win further helped India to earn its quota place in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics mixed compound team archery event that will make its debut at the Olympics.

Indian Men Compound Team Claiming Gold

Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru bagged gold for India in the men’s compound archery team category by defeating China 238-237.

India achieved a perfect ending despite being one point behind the Men’s team title.

Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai Win Trap Gold

Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won gold in the mixed team trap competition.

The Indian pair bagged 34 points, breaking an Asian Games record. Qatar claimed silver with 32 points, followed by China securing bronze with 23 points.

It was the second gold medal for Neeru Dhanda at the Asian Games. She won gold in the women’s individual trap competition and also helped India win silver in women’s team trap competition.

Three More Bronze Medals for India in Boxing

India went on winning three bronze medals in boxing.

• Priya Ghanghas won bronze in women’s 60kg category after losing her semifinal bout to Yang Chengyu of China.
• Kapil Pokhariya won bronze in men’s 90kg category after losing his semifinal bout to Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullaev.
• Narender Berwal also bagged a bronze medal in men’s +90kg category.

India made yet another final entry in boxing as Lovlina Borgohain defeated Natalya Bogdanova of Kazakhstan to reach women’s 75kg final.

Sunil Kumar Brings India Its First Wrestling Medal

Indian wrestler Sunil Kumar scored India’s first-ever wrestling medal, a bronze one, in the Greco-Roman 87kg event at the 2026 Asian Games.

Sunil Kumar won his match by defeating the Philippine’s Callum Johnston Roberts 9-0 on technical superiority in the third-place playoff match. Previously, he had made it to the semifinal match where he was defeated by Japan’s Taizo Yoshida.

India Women’s Hockey Advances to Gold-Medal Match

India’s women’s hockey team secured its place in the final by defeating South Korea 2-0 in the semifinal match.

The first goal was scored by Ishika Chaudhary in the 44th minute, whereas captain Salima Tete added another goal in the 48th minute.

India will play against the defending champion China in the final match. This win is also one step closer for India to achieve its second-ever women’s hockey gold medal at Asian Games since 1982.

India Claims Squash Medals

India won both its teams events in squash and made it into the semifinals.

The ladies’ team, consisting of Anahat Singh and Tanvi Khanna, won against Singapore 2-0 in the quarterfinals to claim the medals.

Also the men’s squash team which was the defending champion, beat Kuwait 2-0 and made it to the semifinals, in which they will play against Malaysia.

• Sumit Nagal has made it to the quarterfinals of the men’s singles events by beating Uzbekistan’s Sergey Fomin 6-3, 6-2.
• Indian pairs lost in the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles events.
• Joga Purty could not qualify for the women’s speed climbing semifinal events.
• Pradhyumna Singh Rathod came sixth in men’s single kayak events.
• India’s League of Legends esports campaign is over after suffering three losses in the group stage.
• Two Indian cyclists, Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam and David Beckham Elkatohchoongo lost in the men’s sprint event.
