BCCI Signs Rs 150 Crore Title Sponsorship Deal with Muthoot FinCorp

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has inked the title sponsorship deal with Muthoot FinCorp, a non-banking financial corporation, for international cricket games to be played under the aegis of the board till March 2028. The deal carries a value of up to Rs 150 crore, where the reported per game payout is Rs 4.3 crore per match. This comes after the ending of the previous title sponsorship deal of IDFC First Bank in August 2026.

Muthoot FinCorp Title Sponsorship Agreement – Key Information

As per reports, the per match payout by Muthoot FinCorp is Rs 4.3 crore, whereas the base rate of the BCCI is Rs 4.85 crore per match for the current period.

Earlier, BCCI had sought offers for the title sponsorship deal on July 20th 2026. While initially, the deadline was August 13, it has been extended to September 7. According to the Economic Times report, the BCCI directly signed an agreement with Muthoot FinCorp following the failure of the bidding process.

IDFC First Was the Prior Title Sponsor

IDFC First Bank held the title sponsorship rights in the prior cycle that ran until August 2026.

It paid Rs 4.2 crore per match in a three-year deal signed in 2023. The prior cycle comprised 56 matches and was valued at Rs 235.2 crore in total.

Thus, the new Muthoot FinCorp deal can be seen as a rise in the per-match payout over the prior Rs 4.2 crore.

BCCI Associate Partners for India Home Cricket

The title sponsorship deal is following soon after BCCI signed Campa, SBI Life and ChatGPT as associate partners for India home cricket.

The three partnerships are in effect for two seasons until March 2028 and are worth over Rs 130 crore according to BCCI. The board claimed that it was a 44% rise over the prior cycle.

The board is also in possession of several major sponsorships agreements, with a deal worth Rs 579 crore made with Apollo Tyres and a deal worth Rs 145 crore signed with Asian Paints as per the report by the Economic Times.

According to the WPP Media Sporting Nation report published in the Economic Times, spending on sports sponsorships in India had increased to Rs 7,942 crore in 2025, experiencing an increase of 7% on a year-on-year basis.

Cricket occupied 89% of India’s sports sponsorship market share, which was 85% last year.
