Bihar Cabinet Ministers 2025, Check the List

Nitish Kumar created history by becoming the Chief Minister of Bihar for the tenth time. The grand oath-taking ceremony was held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where several senior leaders and newly elected ministers also took oath. This event marks the beginning of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly, formed after the recent assembly elections.

Resignation Before the New Term

Before the new government was formed, Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan as the term of the current assembly ends on November 22. This step was necessary to officially start the new assembly and form the next government.

NDA’s Big Win in Bihar Elections

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) returned to power with a strong majority.
Out of 243 seats, NDA won 202 seats.

  • BJP secured 89 seats
  • JD(U) won 85 seats
  • LJP(RV) got 19 seats
  • HAM(S) won 5 seats
  • RLM secured 4 seats

This massive victory paved the way for the formation of the new government under Nitish Kumar.

Oath-Taking Ceremony Highlights

The grand ceremony saw the presence of major national leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and several Chief Ministers, including those from Haryana, Assam, and Nagaland.

A total of 18 cabinet ministers and two Deputy Chief Ministers were sworn in along with Nitish Kumar.

Role of the Governor

Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath of office to all ministers. With the cabinet now formed, Nitish Kumar’s next major step will be to assign departments and begin work on the new government’s agenda.
