A new permanent bridge has been constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to link Kasowal enclave in Punjab with rest of India. This new permanent bridge has been constructed on the river Ravi. The 484-meter long bridge has been built by the 141 Drain Maintenance Coy of 49 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) of Project Chetak. Hence, the new bridge will provide the local population and the Army an all weather connectivity to the enclave.

Earlier, the Kasowal enclave in Punjab was connected via pontoon bridge of limited load capacity and used to be dismantled every year prior to the Monsoon. Due to this reason, thousands of acres of fertile land across the river could not be tilled by farmers during the Monsoon.
