Celebrating Dedication : Adarsh Karmayogi Awards by Mines Ministry

The Mission Karmayogi National Program is a program that seeks to transition the Civil Services from a ‘Rule-Based’ to a ‘Role-Based’ approach, prioritizing a citizen-centric governance model. On October 19, 2024, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the National Learning Week, also known as Karmayogi Saptah (कर्मयोगी सप्ताह), which will run from October 19 to October 25.

Mission Karmayogi National Program Overview

Objective

  • A flagship program of the Government of India aimed at transforming civil service training from a ‘Rule Based’ to a ‘Role Based’ and citizen-centric approach.

Inauguration

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the National Learning Week ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ on October 19, 2024, which runs until October 25, 2024.

Adarsh Karmayogi Awards

Date of Felicitation

  • On October 21, 2024, during the National Learning Week, 13 employees were awarded the “Adarsh Karmayogi Awards” for completing over 100 courses on the iGOT Karmayogi portal.

Award Presenters

  • The awards were presented by Union Minister of Coal & Mines, Shri G Kishan Reddy, and Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey.

Purpose of Awards 

  • The awards aim to encourage employees of the Ministry of Mines to embrace lifelong learning and enhance citizen-centric services through capacity building.

Employee Participation

Organizations Represented,

The 13 awardees belong to the following organizations under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines,

  • Geological Survey of India : 8 employees
  • Hindustan Copper Limited : 3 employees
  • Indian Bureau of Mines : 2 employees

iGOT Karmayogi Portal

  • Revolutionizing Training: The iGOT Karmayogi portal provides extensive training opportunities for civil servants, allowing them to access a wide range of courses tailored to their interests and career goals anytime, anywhere.

Employee Achievements

  • Notable completions include Ms. Layeeka Sultana (Multitasking Staff) with 131 courses and Shri Manoj Kumar Meena (Driver) with 109 courses.

Commitment to Capacity Building

Onboarding Employees

  • The Ministry of Mines onboarded 100% of its employees on the iGOT Karmayogi portal in December 2023.

Capacity Building Program

  • The Ministry implemented a Capacity Building Program for all employees effective January 1, 2024, completing three successful quarters.

Performance Recognition

  • Top Performer Ranking: Despite being a small ministry, the Ministry of Mines achieved 100% course completion in the last three quarters and was recognized as one of the Top Performers among Ministries/Departments/Organizations (MDOs) by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC).

Organization Rankings

  • Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM): Ranked No. 1 among top MDOs in the 500 to 1000 users category.
  • Geological Survey of India (GSI): Ranked No. 2 among top MDOs in the 1000 to 10000 users category as of September 2024.
