Centre plans to set up ‘Suraksha Stores’ to meet daily needs

The government of India plans to set up a chain of 20 lakh retail shops called ‘Suraksha Stores’ across India. These ‘Suraksha Stores’ will provide daily essentials to citizens while maintaining stringent safety norms in the wake of COVID-19.

What is Suraksha Stores?

The plan is to get the mohalla’s Kirana stores to be converted into ‘Suraksha Stores’. It will supply daily items. Every kind of precaution related to cleanliness and community distance will be taken at these shops. These shops will also be disinfected. These stores will not only be for groceries but also apparel, consumer durables and salons.
