Datia Airport Gets DGCA Nod, Becomes MP’s 8th Airport

Datia has officially emerged as Madhya Pradesh’s eighth airport after receiving a licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). It has been categorized as a public aerodrome under the 3C/VFR category, allowing its use for commercial operations. The newly developed airport, spanning 118 acres, is expected to enhance air connectivity in the state. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his joy on social media, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this development.

• Datia Airport has been granted a licence as a public aerodrome under the 3C/VFR category.

• Runway: 1,810 meters long and 30 meters wide
• Terminal Building: Spans 768 square meters
• Passenger Handling Capacity: 100 passengers per hour
• Apron Capacity: Can accommodate two ATR-72 aircraft

• X-ray machines (RB & HB), Explosive Trace Detectors (ETD)
• CCTV systems, Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD), Handheld Metal Detectors (HHMD)
• Walkie-talkies, Radiotelephony (RT) sets, Baggage handling system

Upcoming Developments

• Satna and Datia airports will soon be formally inaugurated.
• Flight operations for the general public will commence after inauguration.
