Deepesh Nanda Appointed As CEO & MD Of Tata Power Renewable Energy

 

Tata Power, one of India’s leading integrated power companies, announced a significant leadership change as it appointed Deepesh Nanda as the President-Renewables and the CEO & MD of its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). This move, effective from November 1, 2023, marks a strategic step in Tata Power’s journey towards becoming a dominant force in the renewable energy sector.

A Leader with a Proven Track Record

Deepesh Nanda, with 28 years of extensive experience in the industry, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. His professional journey has seen him excel in various roles across reputable companies like GE, Flowserve, and Tyco.

A Journey of Leadership in South Asia

Prior to joining Tata Power, he served as the Chief Executive Officer for South Asia at GE Gas Power, overseeing operations in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Nepal. Nanda also held the position of President & CEO of GE’s Aero-derivative Gas Turbine business segment for Asia, solidifying his standing as a seasoned leader in the energy sector.

Educational Background and Leadership Training

Deepesh Nanda’s academic journey includes being an alumnus of Annamalai University. He furthered his education by completing his MBA from the Open University Business School, Milton Keynes, UK. His extensive leadership training at GE Gas Power refined his skills and prepared him to excel in the dynamic energy sector.

In his new role, he will shoulder the responsibility of driving the growth and profitability of Tata Power’s renewable energy portfolio.
