Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Inaugurates Sainik School in Jaipur, Rajasthan

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sainik School in Jaipur, Rajasthan on September 23, 2024, as part of the Government’s plan to establish 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership mode across India. This initiative aims to blend public and private sector contributions to enhance education for future generations and foster patriotism among youth. Deputy CM Diya Kumari and Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd) were also present at the event.

PPP Model Reimagined: Private Sector in the Driver’s Seat

Rajnath Singh emphasized the evolving role of the private sector in India’s economy, stating that it now drives major contributions in agriculture, manufacturing, and services. He highlighted that the traditional Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model is transitioning into a ‘Private-Public-Partnership’, with private entities playing a leading role in initiatives like Sainik Schools.

Holistic Education for Future Patriots

The new Sainik School aims to provide both academic and values-based education, focusing on discipline, patriotism, and courage. Rajnath Singh noted the holistic development offered by Sainik Schools, which prepares students not only for military careers but also for other professions where they can serve the nation.

Significance for Rajasthan’s Youth

Rajasthan, known for its historical heroes, is seen as fertile ground for developing future military leaders. Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that the new school will inspire the state’s youth to join the Armed Forces.

Sainik School’s Curriculum: Academic Plus

In addition to regular academics, the curriculum at Sainik Schools incorporates skill-based training, physical fitness, community service, and debates on societal issues like gender equality and environmental protection. These activities are designed to ensure the all-round development of students.

Partnership with Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti

The Sainik School in Jaipur was established in collaboration with Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti. This partnership, formalized in 2023, is part of a broader strategy to develop 100 new Sainik Schools under the aegis of the Sainik Schools Society, adding to the existing 33 institutions operating under the traditional model.
