Dr. Deepak Mittal Appointed India’s New Envoy to UAE
India has named seasoned diplomat Dr. Deepak Mittal as its next Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), further reinforcing the strategic and people-centric bond between the two nations. A 1998-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, Dr. Mittal brings with him a wealth of diplomatic experience and strategic insight, having served in key positions in the Prime Minister’s Office and abroad.
Dr. Mittal will succeed Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir, who is set to retire in September 2025. Sudhir has overseen a period of growing India-UAE engagement, and Mittal’s appointment ensures continuity with added strategic depth.
