ECINet KYC Feature Explained: How Voters Can Check Candidate Details in 2026 Elections
The Election Commission of India has launched the powerful digital initiative which is the ‘Know Your Candidates (KYC) feature on its ECINet platform just before the Assembly elections of the 2026. This move is initiated to helping the voters to access the verified details about candidates and make them informed about the electoral choices. As the assembly elections scheduled across key states like Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry this initiative showcase to push toward transparency, accountability and digital participation in the democratic process.
The newly introduced KYC module which is the ECINet and it will allows voters to easily access for the comprehensive background information about those candidates which are contesting the Election.
This system will includes the critical details that earlier was difficult for the common voter to verify them.
Bu using this feature voters can check the criminal antecedents of candidates and also the assets and liabilities of them. Along side with this educational qualifications and their verified social media profiles can be seen by the voters.
Additionally the users can download the official Form 26 affidavit. Under this affidavit the every candidate is to required to submit during nomination.
The ECINet platform can be described as the world’s largest electoral service interface in which it is integrating over the 40 different applications and portals into the single system.
It offers the wide range of voter-centric services including the voter registration and electoral roll search and also can track the application status.
