Election Commission to Launch Unified ECINET App Integrating 40+ Existing Applications

In a landmark step to modernize electoral services and streamline digital operations, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to launch ECINET, a unified digital platform for all electoral stakeholders. This single-point platform aims to integrate over 40 existing web and mobile applications into one consolidated interface, enhancing user experience and data accuracy for citizens, officials, and political parties alike.

Why in News?

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on May 4, 2025, that it is in the advanced stages of launching ECINET, an integrated digital electoral platform. Envisioned by Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, ECINET will significantly enhance UI/UX and improve service delivery for nearly 100 crore electors and the entire electoral machinery, replacing 40+ fragmented applications with a unified system.

Aim and Objectives

  • Provide a one-stop platform for all electoral-related activities.
  • Simplify the user journey by offering aesthetic UI and simplified UX.
  • Ensure data accuracy through authorized entries by ECI officials.
  • Enhance accessibility for stakeholders including voters, BLOs, political parties, and officials.

Background

  • ECINET was conceptualized during the Conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) in March 2025.
  • Developed after consultations with 36 CEOs, 767 DEOs, and 4,123 EROs.
  • Based on insights from 76 official ECI publications, totaling 9,000 pages.

What Will ECINET Replace?

Over 40 existing applications will be subsumed including,

  • Voter Helpline App
  • cVIGIL
  • Suvidha 2.0
  • Saksham
  • KYC App
  • Voter Turnout App
  • ERONET, ENCORE, EMS, Observer Portal, among others.

Who Will Benefit?

  • 100 crore electors
  • 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs)
  • 15 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs)
  • 45 lakh polling officials

  • Registration of Electors Rules, 1960
  • Conduct of Election Rules, 1961
  • Data entry restricted to authorized ECI officials to maintain reliability.
  • Primary statutory forms will prevail in case of data discrepancies.
