EPFO Launches ‘Passbook Lite’ Faster Claims, Real-Time Tracking
In a significant digital push to simplify the lives of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) members, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a new feature called ‘Passbook Lite’ on its member portal. This initiative is aimed at making EPF account management easier, faster, and more transparent. Announced by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the move is part of broader reforms that focus on reducing claim processing time, improving accountability, and boosting member satisfaction. These steps not only enhance the user experience but also align with the government’s vision of promoting digital governance and self-service platforms for salaried individuals.
The Passbook Lite is a simplified version of the traditional EPF passbook, accessible directly through the EPFO member portal without requiring a separate login.
The feature simplifies the architecture by integrating backend APIs, reducing the load on the main passbook portal while improving operational efficiency.
Earlier, the Annexure K, a critical document generated during EPF account transfers, was only shared between EPF offices. Members had to raise specific requests to access it.
