FASTag Annual Pass Crosses 25 Lakh Users in 2 Months

The FASTag Annual Pass, launched on 15th August 2025, has crossed a major milestone by attracting over 25 lakh users within just two months. With 5.67 crore transactions already recorded, this initiative marks a significant step in simplifying and economizing highway travel across India.

What Is the FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass is a one-time toll payment system for non-commercial vehicles. It offers,

  • Validity: 1 year
  • Fee: ₹3,000 for up to 200 National Highway (NH) or National Expressway (NE) crossings
  • Activation: Within 2 hours of payment on the vehicle’s existing FASTag
  • Payment Channels: Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website

Once activated, users can travel freely across 1,150 toll plazas on NHs and NEs without needing to recharge their FASTag balance repeatedly.

Key Benefits

  • Convenience: Eliminates the hassle of repeated toll recharges by covering a set number of toll crossings annually.
  • Speed and Efficiency: Faster toll gate clearance improves traffic movement and reduces wait times at toll plazas.
  • Seamless Activation: Digital activation within two hours via official portals makes it highly user-friendly.
  • Dual Functionality: For Expressways or State Highways (SHs) managed by state governments or local bodies, FASTag will continue to use the linked wallet balance—ensuring uninterrupted functionality nationwide.

Usage Limitations

  • The pass is non-transferable
  • It is valid only for non-commercial vehicles
  • Applies to NH and NE toll plazas—State Highway tolls are not covered under the annual pass, but can be paid using the regular FASTag wallet

Milestone Achievement

  • The crossing of the 25 lakh user mark so soon after launch highlights the massive public interest and trust in the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) infrastructure and digital initiatives.
  • With this, NHAI reinforces its mission to offer safe, fast, and efficient road transport across the country.
