FASTag Annual Pass Crosses One Crore Milestone

The number of FASTag Annual Passes issued till date has now touched the figure of one crore from its launch on August 15, 2025, as per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The pass gives access to about 1,150 fee plazas by way of a one-time payment of ₹3,075 for one year or 200 toll plaza entries, whichever comes first, as per the relevant rule.

About FASTag Annual Pass

The FASTag Annual Pass is the toll payment scheme for eligible non-commercial vehicles having a valid FASTag. Eligible non-commercial vehicle owners need not make the toll payments every time or recharge the FASTag but can instead opt for an annual pass via a one-time payment.

It was launched on August 15, 2025. Once the one-time payment is made, the pass gets activated on the existing FASTag on the vehicle.

The main objective of the pass is simplification of toll payment.

Where Does the FASTag Annual Pass Apply?

FASTag Annual Pass can be used at around 1,150 fee plazas located on National Highways and National Expressways.

It therefore means that the program only covers the eligible toll plazas that are in the National Highways network and is not a program that grants an exemption from toll fees on all roads in India.

It can therefore be used by non-commercial vehicles if they have a valid FASTag for their vehicle.

How Can the FASTag Annual Pass be Activated?

The Annual Pass will be activated electronically using the existing FASTag attached to the vehicle after the single time payment is made.

The payment and activation will be done through the Rajmargyatra app. It means that no separate toll pass is required by the vehicle owner since the program uses the existing FASTag in the vehicle.

It will therefore mean that the toll fee transaction will be done through the electronic toll fee collection system while determining the applicable rights of the Annual Pass at eligible fee plazas.

Crossing of One Crore Passes Issued

The crossing of one crore passes issued signifies that there is significant acceptance of the Annual Pass by National Highway users since its launch in August 2025.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have pointed out the program to be an efficient way of helping individuals to travel easily and economically on the national highways network.

This also signifies the increasing usage of FASTag toll collection system.
