After becoming a lawyer, he returned to Ahmedabad and started helping people.

Beginning of His Political Career

Sardar Patel was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. His first political role was in 1917 as Sanitation Commissioner of Ahmedabad. Later, he became Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Committee, where he improved the city’s cleanliness, water supply and planning.
