A biographical film about Nitin Gadkari, who serves as the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, is scheduled for release on October 27th. Titled ‘Gadkari,’ the movie will explore different facets of his life. Actor Rahul Chopda has been cast to portray the role of Nitin Gadkari in this biopic. The film celebrates his inspiring journey, from a common political worker to becoming a distinguished Cabinet Minister, who has left an indelible mark on the Indian infrastructure landscape.
The Marathi movie, presented by Abhijit Majumdar, is produced by Akshay Anant Deshmukh and directed by Anurag Ranjan Bhusari.
Nitin Jairam Gadkari, hailing from Nagpur, has come a long way in the Indian political landscape. He has a deep passion for infrastructure. From his humble beginnings as an ordinary Jan Sangh activist, he has risen to become a prominent leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a driving force in India’s infrastructure development.
A staunch advocate of privatization, Nitin Gadkari possesses the ability to initiate large-scale projects. Within the Modi government, he spearheaded numerous projects that garnered appreciation from both his political allies and opponents alike.
Gadkari’s rise within the BJP was swift. He earned the trust and support of his party members and leaders, eventually becoming a prominent figure. His ascent in Maharashtra politics was marked by his election as the BJP state president. He held this position from April 2005 to December 2009, during which he demonstrated his leadership capabilities.
One of the pivotal moments in Gadkari’s career came when he served as the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister in the Shiv Sena-BJP government from 1995 to 1999. During this time, he led the construction of India’s first expressway that connected Mumbai and Pune. This project transformed travel between these two key cities and changed the face of Indian infrastructure.
Gadkari also took on the ambitious task of constructing 55 flyovers in Mumbai to alleviate road traffic. Despite facing skepticism and criticism, he persevered. Today, more than three decades later, Mumbai’s traffic situation has significantly improved, thanks in no small part to his vision and determination.
Gadkari’s reputation is built on his no-nonsense approach to administration. He is not the typical politician who makes grand promises during elections only to forget them afterward. Instead, he is known for demanding time-bound performance from those working under him.
Under the blessings of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gadkari was elected as one of the youngest BJP Presidents, both in Maharashtra and at the all-India level. His leadership and capabilities have occasionally made him a contender for the country’s top executive post.
In his current role as the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Gadkari has played a significant role in revolutionizing the Indian roads sector. The road network has expanded by 59% in the past nine years, making him a formidable force in the sector and a source of envy for his rivals.
Nitin Jairam Gadkari’s life and work are a testament to his dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to the development of India’s infrastructure. His name is synonymous with progress and innovation, making him the ‘Expressway Man of India.’ The biopic will undoubtedly shed light on the extraordinary life of this remarkable political figure.
