Gujarat Digitises 20 Citizen Services Under Sugam Digital Initiative
The Gujarat state government has digitized 20 high demand citizen services under the Sugam Digital Gujarat Initiative. This initiative is aiming to deliver faceless, cashless and paperless governance. It was announced on March 23 2026 it enables the complete online service delivery mechanism through the Digital Gujarat portal. It also uses technologies like Aadhaar authentication, DigiLocker, eSign and UPI payments to improve transparency and ease of access.
The Sugam Digital Gujarat Initiative focuses on to the transforming the traditional government services into a seamless digital system.
It aims to the eliminate physical paperwork and reduce dependency for in person visits.
This initiative also ensuring the citizens can access services from anywhere with minimal effort.
By promoting the faceless governance in state the government is will enhancing transparency, reducing delays and making service delivery faster and more efficient.
The first phase of the initiative will covers the 20 high-demand services. This will expand across five major department and it will ensuring that essential services reach citizens quickly and efficiently.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department offers the Ration card-related services including new applications, corrections, duplicate cards and addition or deletion of members.
Also the Revenue Department facilitates requests for certified documents.
Additionally the Tribal Development Department issues Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates and the Legal Department provides ready affidavits with this it will reducing the need for legal paperwork and visits.
The initiative powered by the advanced digital technologies and it will simplify processes and improve user experience.

The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Bhupendra Patel. Also guided by recommendations from the Gujarat Administrative Reforms Committee (GARC).
The initiative also aligns with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally empowered India.
