Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurates AIIMS Bhubaneswar's New Facilities
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently spearheaded the inauguration of cutting-edge healthcare facilities at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, marking a pivotal moment for healthcare in Odisha. Executive Director Ashutosh Biswas expressed gratitude towards Minister Mandaviya for his unwavering dedication to advancing healthcare in the region.
The event showcased the unveiling of state-of-the-art amenities, including a Dharmasala, Trauma Centre, and High Energy Linear Accelerator (HELA) Machine. These facilities epitomize the commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services in Odisha and beyond.
Constructed through generous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding from NALCO, the Dharmasala boasts 492 beds distributed across 159 rooms. Its affordability ensures patients and their attendants have access to unprecedented lodging options within the state. Biswas highlighted its operational significance in serving the public seeking healthcare services.
The newly inaugurated Trauma Centre, equipped with an ICU, modular OTs, and advanced diagnostic services, stands as a beacon of hope during traumatic situations. With 86 beds, including 19 dedicated to intensive care, it serves as the sole standalone trauma centre in the state, delivering prompt and efficient services to trauma victims.
The introduction of the HELA Machine signifies a revolutionary leap in cancer care. Employing cutting-edge technology, this device ensures precise radiation therapy, significantly reducing waiting times for cancer patients. Biswas emphasized its role in providing comprehensive cancer care and enhancing the technological landscape of healthcare in Odisha.
The presence of key figures such as DEAN P R Mohapatra, Satyajit Mishra, and Soubhagya Kumar Jena, alongside faculties, officials, students, and guests, marked the occasion in the main auditorium of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Their collective efforts underscore the collaborative spirit driving advancements in healthcare services and infrastructure.
