As Christmas 2025 comes closer, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is once again spreading holiday joy with its famous Santa Tracker. Known around the world, this fun tradition shares interesting details about Santa Claus, also called Saint Nicholas. Over many years, Santa has become more than a story character. He is now a symbol of kindness, happiness, and the magic of Christmas that people of all ages enjoy.
Many people wonder about Santa’s age. According to NORAD, it is difficult to say exactly, but their information suggests that Santa is at least 1,600 years old. His story began in the early centuries of history, which makes him a very old and respected figure in Christmas traditions across the world.
NORAD also shares fun details about Santa’s appearance. Using years of tracking with satellites and radar, Santa is believed to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weigh around 260 pounds. Of course, this estimate is before he enjoys the cookies and milk left for him on Christmas Eve.
The NORAD Santa Tracker is a special Christmas Eve tradition. It allows families to follow Santa’s journey as he travels around the world delivering gifts. By using modern technology, NORAD adds excitement and joy to Christmas night for both children and adults.
NORAD’s main role is protecting airspace, but tracking Santa started by accident in 1955. A newspaper printed the wrong phone number for Santa, and children ended up calling the military. Instead of turning them away, NORAD kindly told them where Santa was. This small mistake became a beloved global tradition.
As Christmas 2025 approaches, NORAD’s Santa Tracker reminds us that Christmas is not only about presents. It is about sharing happiness, believing in wonder, and enjoying traditions with loved ones. Whether you watch Santa’s journey online or leave treats for him at home, the season is all about spreading joy and togetherness.
