Hyderabad To Host Second Edition Of E-Prix In 2024
After a period of uncertainty, the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and Formula E have officially confirmed the return of the Hyderabad EPrix for a second edition. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on February 10, 2024.
Despite concerns about the future of the Hyderabad EPrix, fans and motorsport enthusiasts can now breathe a sigh of relief as the FIA and Formula E have included Hyderabad in the final calendar for the tenth season of the Formula E championship. This season will consist of 16 rounds, promising a thrilling competition for fans worldwide.
One of the most exciting aspects of the 2024 Hyderabad EPrix is the debut of an Indian driver, Jehan Daruvala. Daruvala will be making his mark in the all-electric single-seater championship, driving for Maserati MSG Racing and representing the Indian team Mahindra Racing. This is a significant moment for Indian motorsport as a homegrown talent joins the global stage.
The first-ever edition of the Hyderabad EPrix was not without its challenges, as is common with any inaugural event. However, the organizers successfully addressed the teething issues, and the event ultimately ran smoothly. Alberto Longo, Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer of Formula E, spoke about the significance of returning to India., saying, “We are honored to return to India thanks to the support of the Telangana Government and Minister K. T. Rama Rao.” This reaffirms Formula E’s commitment to promoting electric racing in India and strengthening the connection between motorsport and the Indian audience.
